      I proposed to my girlfriend Val about two weeks ago. We’ve actually had the wedding planned for a little while so it was no big shock when I finally put a ring on her finger. We both want a small, intimate wedding. I’m talking just family and a few super close friends, probably 40 to 50 people tops. We’d rather take the 10-20 grand a wedding would cost and use it towards the downpayment on a home. Personally, I want the wedding to focus on our love for each other, our future together and our families. Not how much we spent on a party, or dress, or limos. We have the money. We both just look at the expense as a little crazy. I think we could easily have 400 people invited between us. I’ve already seen some eyebrows raised when I’ve said “just immediate family.” I know people want to share the day with us and that is AWESOME, but I hope everyone understands when there’s no invitation in the mail. Are we being selfish?! I don’t think so.

     Is there something wrong with me? I feel like I’m the only person on the planet that didn’t watch ANY of the olymipcs. It’s not that I hate sports, I just find absolutely nothing interesting about them. In fact, a buddy of mine called me last week and said he had tickets for the Bills training camp and invited me along. “Um, sports aren’t really my thing” I said. He convinced me we’d have a good time and we could just hang out. Ok. What did I have to lose? Well, I went and was quite frankly bored out of my mind. To further prove the theory that I’m missing some dude dna…I’m not into cars all that much, I don’t hunt and I don’t own any tools. Just to be on the safe side I think when I get home I’m going to delete “Young and the restless” from my TiVO record list.
