I’ve had the chance to hang out with Blake a few times and something I can tell you is he is really down to earth, and REALLY funny. So it’s no surprise that Blake is making fun of himself for being voted one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest men alive.” Watch this video as he walks the streets of New York City trying to use his new “Superpowers.”

What a scam

Posted in: Rant

Last night I’m watching TV. I see an add come on for a retailer that says a certain item will be on sale for just $blah blah blah. “Wow. That’s a great price” I think to my self. I love TV and movies so I own a monster sized sceen, which means all that little bity print you sometimes see on commercials is easily readable on my TV. Guess what? That great deal which is being advertised nationwide ends with this: “minimum 5 available per store.” You and I both know what that means. There will be 5 per store. So what do you think is going to happen the day after Thanksgiving when hundreds of people line up at some unGodly hour in the morning only to find out there are just 5 of those sale items in the store? It’s not going to be pretty. I’ll just wait until the week before Christmas and get my stuff then when it’s discounted even MORE. (That’s how they’ve trained us to shop, isn’t it?!) What a bunch of chodes. Those stores should be ashamed for using such tactics to lure people into their stores. God help the poor managers who happen to be working Friday morning. I’m sure they’re going to get screamed at.

I did it!!!  I have scratched the first item off of my personal “Bucket List”!  OK, a little background here.  Last spring I was watching the movie starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.   ”The Bucket List” is the story of an unlikely pairing of friends that help each other accomplish a number of things in their life, before they “kick the bucket”.    After watching the flick, I decided to make a ’bucket list’ of my own and there at #4 was the invitation to give a commencement speech at a graduation.  Saturday night, thanks to the Everest Institute, I have scratched number 4 off the list!  It was so much fun, I was scared let me tell you, sweaty palms, heart palpitations, belly butterflies, the whole nine yards.  Once I got started the time just flew.  The graduating class, staff and administration could not have been kinder, they knew I was freaking out and were very supportive.  My hope is that I said something that was somewhat memorable, inspirational or meaningful.  The opportunity to be there was all three for me!  Thank you Everest, grad, friends and family, I am honored to have been a small part of such a special celebration.
