Swine Flu

Posted in: Funny

I was out sick yesterday. One day. A little leakage, if you catch my drift. All better today. But before I was allowed to return to work today I was informed I needed a note from my doctor saying I’m ok to be amoung humans again (translation: no swine flu.) So for my coworkers, all the people I shook hands with at the remote broadcast last weekend, the wonderful folks at the DMV where I spent some time this morning, the Wal Marts that are part of my weekly routine, my favorite Subway, Dipisa subs, Nick Tahou’s, a popular regional supermarket (I usually hit one of three locations) that really nice car wash in Spencerport, Four Point Rod and Gun Club: I’m fine and so are you. Let it be shouted from the highest moutain top:

I DON’T HAVE THE SWINE FLU!! LOOK, MY DOCTOR EVEN SAYS SO!!!!!!!!

A California woman says her three toy Chihuahuas cornered a mountain lion that wandered into her garage. Ana Lee Spray, 23, said she was awakened early in the morning by the sound of her three dogs barking like crazy. When she went to investigate, she was shocked to see that her tiny three-pound dogs had cornered an angry-looking mountain lion in the garage. Spray said her three dogs kept the big cat at bay for 45 minutes until Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. “When they saw the dogs they said ‘These little things?’ When they saw the mountain lion their jaws dropped,” Spray said. “They radioed, ‘This is a full-size mountain lion and it is not happy to see us.” Officers from the Department of Fish and Game subdued the mountain lion with a tranquilizer gun. He isn’t filling Jay Leno’s chair until June 1, but Conan O’Brien is getting a head start on personalizing the classic late night chat fest. He has unveiled the new logo for 11:30 show.

Conan tells “TV Guide Magazine”, “I wanted a logo that acknowledged the long, rich tradition of The Tonight Show while still looking good on hats, T-shirts, mugs, lawn furniture, notebooks, stemware, urns, defibrillators, water bottles, cell phones, sports equipment, pens, vacuums, chimes and our new line of unisex cologne.”

The classic moon is still there, but otherwise the design looks entirely different from Leno’s standby—perhaps the first signal of the show freshening up under the new regime.

What do you think?

About Little Dude Ranch
On February 25th, the barn at Little Dude Ranch at 1652 Lake Road Ontario burned to the
ground. Little Dude Ranch is a pony farm specializing in programs for children ages 2-11,
owned and operated by Neysha Parulski. Neysha lost 3 horses in the fire, but managed to
save 15. There were over 1000 bales of hay in the barn when it burned, as well as all of
her tack and irreplaceable photos of her young riders past and present. The fire hydrant
nearest to the property was frozen and the fireman had to locate another water source.
By the time they did, the barn was fully engulfed and a complete loss. Unfortunately,
Neysha had no fire coverage on her insurance and must re-build on her own.
Donations of any of the following items will be welcomed at the Registration Desk:
grooming supplies (brushes, curry combs, hoof picks)
stall forks
water buckets
wheelbarrow
large water troughs 100 gallon plus
lead ropes
bridles (mostly pony but also Arab and horse size)
Western saddles (kid size for pony and horses and adult size)
saddle blankets
riding helmets (mostly kid size)
