You knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I was going to fall off the wagon. I did. It all started with my birthday. A celebration meal turned into a celebration weekend, which continued thru the week as I ran into various friends. I know, excuses excuses. I put a pound on. Not bad if you look at the 10 week run where I lost 25 pounds. I’m not going to beat my self up. I’m going to get right back on the plan as soon as I finish this cookie. LOL.

So new years resolutions are now 8 weeks old. How are YOU doing so far?! Hit the comment button below and let me know!!!

I stepped on the scale this morning and was down another 2 pounds this week. That’s 22 pounds GONE in 10 weeks.

Weight Watchers: Same old, same old. Keep with the plan and the pounds will drop. I’ve had some fun with the extra points. They keep me motivated to stay on plan so I can enjoy a meal or two of anything I want to eat!! Most of my meals were good, but I still managed to have pizza (twice) and some sweets. I really don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.

Excercise: I was lazy this week. I don’t think I hit the elipse machine once. BUT, that just proves the point that your weight is directly linked to what you put (or better yet DON’T put) in your mouth. Excercise is good for the heart and lungs, but to lose the weight you absolutely eat correctly. No amout of time in the gym will change that.

Mental: I have gotten to the point now where if I’m around food here at the radio station, unless it’s something I have planned on eating, I pass it by. Terry keeps making cakes, there’s lunch meetings with all kinds of goodies that end up in the kitchen for us underlings, but it just doesn’t have a hold on me anymore. I’ve also been praying about this, alot. I never tried that approach before. Things that make you go hmmmmm : )

So are you keeping up with your plan to get healthy? Did you make a new years resolution? Are you sticking with it??! Click the comment button below and let me know!!

20 pounds, GONE!!! BAM!!! I lost another pound this week and finally hit the 20 pounds lost mark. On one hand it seems like it has taken forever to get here, but on the other hand, its only taken 9 weeks. I started this journey in the beginning of December.

Weight Watchers: Once again, I stuck with the plan and I lost weight. This was a weird week because I caught some kind of stomach bug, so there were days when I barely ate anything, and days where I was starving! Overall, I think I probably really lost more than just one pound, but it will take a few days to get things back to normal.

Excercise: My back is still a little sore but I managed to get back on the elipse machine this week. I really don’t enjoy doing cardio, I’d rather weight train but the cardio seems to be getting the job done for now.

Mental: Getting a stomach bug really thru me off this week. At one point, I stepped on the scale and I was 5 or 6 pounds below where I was last week. I knew that wasn’t a real number because I couldn’t eat for about 2 days. But I stuck with the plan and everything worked out as it should have. To keep focused, I try to make little goals. For instance, a big goal is to lose at least another 10 pounds by the time we have the guitars and stars show on April 16th. That will be a total of 30 pounds lost all together, and should be easily accomplished. It could be more like 40 pounds lost. I’ll be happy with either. It’s easy to lose focus with a long term goal because the finish line seems so far away. But with mini goals, it’s easier for me to see the success, or if things get off track to FIX the problem and still see positive results.

I am THIS close to hitting the 20 pounds lost mark. I weighed in this morning and dropped another three pounds last week, making a total of 19 pounds gone in 8 weeks. I’m just chugging along now pretty much on auto pilot until I hit that 70 pound mark. One thing I’ve learned is I can’t just nibble the good stuff. If I take a bite of, let’s say my favorite chocolate chip cookie, I’m finished. I’ll eat the whole plate. I’m not denying myself foods I like, just knowing myself I have to avoid them COMPLETELY unless I’ve planned the meal or treat ahead of time and have the points set aside for that very reason.

Weight Watchers: I’ve been religiously sticking to the plan. I know people see “weight watchers” and think I’m just eating bunny food. That’s not the case at all. In the past week, I’ve enjoyed meals from McDonalds, pizza, chicken parm, soups, homemade chili and raspberry pie! It’s all about planning. If you are trying to lose weight, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take this one thought away from this blog: Set yourself up for success. Give yourself enough good choices and you’ll make the right decision most of the time.

Excercise: It was another week without excercise. 10 days ago, I was walking around the walmart with my son on my shoulders. That’s not unusual. I think the fact it was 45 minutes didn’t do me anygood! I’m still in pain, but it’s getting better. I’m thinking I’ll be back on the elipse maching sometime this week.

Mental: I was a little worried about this week. I thought about all the food I was eating. It was all within the points range that weight watchers gave me but it really felt like I was cheating because I really ate everything I wanted to. That again just goes to show if you stick to the plan, it works.

I know a bunch of people started diets as a new years resolution. How are YOU doing?! Click the comments button below and let me know!!!
