Educational Hero Winner—Sarah Anschutz
Nominated by her mother: Sandra Anschutz
Sandra says……
Sarah works in one of the poorest city schools in Rochester. She is always making a difference in her student’s lives, both in and out of the classroom. Sarah motivates with her creativity of lesson plans and rewards. She spends time taking individual students shopping on weekends or spending time with them on her days off. It is important to her that her students know she is there for them. She wants them to know that they can achieve their dreams and become the adults they want to be. Through her efforts, Sarah has shown her students that they can be independent thinkers and leaders. Parents request her for other siblings. Adults and kids respect her. She is an asset to the city. I know that she would never want to teach anywhere else. Yes, I have heard her complain at times, what teacher hasn’t. I can also tell you that I have heard her cry many more times than what she has complained. She loves what she does. She knows she makes a difference, but at the same time is humbled by it.
Congratulations to Sarah Anschutz! She and a guest are going to Wednesday night’s SOLD-OUT Guitars & Stars Concert and they’ll be sitting in the FRONT ROW!! Plus—they’ll get limo transportation to and from the show! It’s all brought to you by Advantage Federal Credit Union and 92.5 WBEE!
