One of the things I enjoy most about the long winter months in Rochester is the opportunity to visit area schools.  Many years ago, I started weaseling my way into schools to share a story or two with the kiddo’s.  Those stories usually come from a Chicken Soup book, sometimes the teachers have a special story or two that they would like me to read, it matters not to me.  I was not a very big reader growing up, not sure why because my parents always had their noses in a book.  I am happy to report that I broke that cycle with my kids, they enjoy reading for pleasure.

The point of this blog?  If you know of a classroom that likes to share a good story and wouldn’t mind me reading it, please e-mail me.  There are reading programs that go on all winter long and I love to support that.  I’ll come a runnin‘ OK, I’ll drive but I have books and will travel!!!

  2. Hey Terry,

I’m a BIG fan of country music and the BEE morning coffee club. On March 2, we are celebrating Read Across America(Dr. Suess’ Birthday) at our school. We always invite guest readers in on this day. I know Waterloo is a bit of a drive, but I’d love to have you read to my third grade classroom! Let me know if you are available!

    Thanks,
